Homebrewing on heat?!
For any amateur home brewers out there, consistent temperature control is a major factor in the pursuit of creating a decent home brew (one that your guests will rave about instead of politely smiling before spitting out into the nearest plant pot - yes, i'm talking from experience here!)
Essentially, if temperature is not controlled and varies too high or low during the fermentation stage, the yeast can die and / or you end up with some unpleasant flavours and aromas.
As a guide, temperatures of around 18-20oC give good results - the higher the temperature the quicker the brewing process, but each recipe is different.
